prevention:
Hygiene. You all know that if you drop something on the floor then you don’t eat it?
It’s the same thing with the bubonic plague. Although the bubonic plague is a zoonosis disease (transmitted between species (sometimes by a vector) from animals other than humans to humans or from humans to other animal) it is important to not touch a person if they do have the bubonic plague.
Be wary of animals such as rodents/fleas which are vectors of the disease and other animals also include cats and dogs so be careful when you see a dog next time as it could possibly be carrying the plague.
In the medieval days, most towns burnt corpses which had previously been infected by the disease to prevent the spread of the bubonic plague but also other variants of the plague as they can manifest into those types. One thing that they did was to have mint or pennyroyal (herb) which as used to ward off fleas and was typically effective against it. Also the extermination of rats was also crucial to their survival back at that time.
Although most tactics to avoid the plague are implemented into daily life (E.g Washing with hot water), there are still plans on which you can protect yourself from the disease.
If you know that there have been recent cases of bubonic plague within your area then you should also avoid dead tissue and bodily fluids as the disease may be present.
